Kate Browne's essay, Cracking Up the Audience, is included in The Vitality of Objects: Exploring the Work of Christopher Bollas. The book is a collection of essays by artists, critics and other writers that explore Bollas' notion of an "unrepressed" or "receptive" unconscious as a wellspring of creativity. In her essay, Browne writes about the influence of Bollas on her work and her strategy for engaging the audience's "unrepressed" unconscious. Breach of Peace Kate Browne worked with photographer Eric Etheridge on conceptualizing and editing his new book, "Breach of Peace: Portraits of the 1961 Mississippi Freedom Riders." |
